HR Online Micro-Credentials

Are you looking for a way to earn recertification credit and build your professional credibility?

Introducing HREN’s Micro-Credential programs. These programs are comprised of multiple online video programs totaling anywhere from 3-10 hours of programming–all of which earn both SHRM and HRCI credit. Participants will view each of the required programs and complete a short exam to demonstrate mastery of the topic. Our Micro-Credential programs are verified by Credly. Upon completion of the required elements, participants will receive a Digital Badge.

After claiming your badge, you’ll be able to display it on your online profiles, your email signature, your resume, job applications, and social media sites. Current and future employees, colleagues, and friends can verify your credentials with just one click. Micro-Credentials can be a key part of your Continuing Professional Education plan and a unique way to differentiate yourself in the workplace.

Earning a Micro-Credential from HREN speaks volumes – about you as a professional, about the organization you serve and about the employees who put their trust in you. An HREN Micro-Credential distinguishes you as a specialist in a field, with proven levels of skills and knowledge, and the competence necessary to mitigate risks and drive business results. Whether you’re a seasoned HR professional or just starting out, HREN has a Micro-Credential program that is just right for your level of experience.

What is the difference between Micro-Credentials and a Certification?

HR Micro-Credentials and certifications both demonstrate expertise in HR fields, but there are some key differences between the two. Micro-Credentials consist of short, targeted courses on specific HR skills that can completed in matter of hours or a few short days. HR certifications are more comprehensive and cover a broader range of topics. They often require more work and preparation, and certification exams can be challenging.

Why are digital badges important?

Once earned, a digital badge recipient should add it to resumes, professional profiles, and all applicable social media sites. This will help notify potential future employers and talent scouts of additional skills. Beyond putting them on paper, be vocal about new credentials earned. Post to networks like LinkedIn to share growth and highlight achievements to others. These badges provide a way to digitally represent your skills and achievements in this digital age.

Micro-Credentials are skill-based, and digital badges carry the metadata mapping to specific skills mastered to achieve each badge. Adding Micro-Credentials to LinkedIn, Indeed, your resume, etc., makes you immediately more marketable and will more easily match potential candidates to opportunities based on those skills. The algorithms in these platforms are made to skill match, so this is an immediate boost after you earn your Micro-Credential and digital badge.
